Crest Ring & Earrings - V&A Dundee Collaboration
I was delighted to learn a few years ago that Dundee was going to have it's very own V&A Museum, as I lived in the city for four years while I did my BDes in Jewellery and Metalwork and have great memories of the time I spent there. I was even more delighted when Water Whiskers Presents and the V&A Dundee commissioned me to produce new jewellery designs for the museum shop.
The result is an elegant ring and pair of earrings that echo the shapes and patterns in the iconic museum building, designed by Kengo Kuma, whilst still incorporating my own design sensibilities. Only available in the museum shop in black, the pieces have been popular with visitors, allowing them to take home a stylish souvenir of their visit to this burgeoning city of design.
View the video above to see an insight into the design and making of these pieces, filmed in my studio by Garry MacLennan. Also with thanks to Make/Works, Paved With Gold and Water Whiskers Presents.
